1:1 Coaching with Mackenzie and Jacquie

  • 1-on-1 Client Mentoring

Costron + Co has been the perfect company for me to go with for business coaching. I am still early in my business development and have many different coaching needs, from system design to financial management, to marketing, to just sorting out my own mental blocks to running a business. With their combination of skills, Jacquie, Mackenzie and staff have been such a huge support for me. They have quickly adapted to my changing needs, and have helped me bring more confidence, strategy, and organization into my work. Thanks so much for your help!

  • 1-on-1 Client Mentoring

Mackenzie’s advice is invaluable in terms of creating weekly tasks for projects and deadlines in my free lance work both as an instructor and performer. She acts as my conscious and guides me to be accountable to myself for my dreams and projects to succeed. Working for myself, and mostly on my own, has taken some adjustment. Mackenzie’s gentle guidance is helping to keep my work current and my vision evolving.

  • 1-on-1 Client Mentoring

I had the privilege of being mentored by Jacquie as part of the Centre for Social Innovation's Women of Ontario Social Entrepreneur Network Mentorship program. I found the experience to be both positive and enriching. Jacquie was terrific! Both knowledgeable and abundantly experienced while also being mindful and supportive. More than anything, I enjoyed Jacquie's steady, gentle and heart-centred approach in what can sometimes be a rather contrarian journey through the social entrepreneurship landscape!

  • Kairos Journey Signature Program

The Kairos Journey program at Costron + Co. has really helped me find direction for my business that is aligned with my values and core desired feelings (which I learned about in the program).

Since taking this program last fall, I’ve really been able to define who I want to be in life and business and have taken huge steps towards building the business I want, my way.

Now, with every business decision, I check to see if the process and end result align with my goals. It’s a great way to stay focused and ensure I am consistent and intentional in everything I do.

If you are seeking business guidance, I highly recommend the team at Costron + Co.

  • Reset + Renew Workshop

I experienced a Free & Clear online group workshop where both Mackenzie and Jacquie facilitated a welcoming conversation around clarifying emotions and what resonated with each of the participants. There was a gentleness around the approach, along with clear guidance and sharing of knowledge based on Danielle Laporte's programs. I was particularly intrigued and enjoyed the music element that Mackenzie incorporated into the experience, adding a calming ambiance during the reflective segments of the program. When complete, there was a lightness of heart and feeling of connection presented to me - something I welcome during this time of heavy emotional lifting and disconnection many of us are all experiencing. A breath of fresh air amidst the messiness of our world right now. xo

Mentors + Collaborators

  • Words from a Mentor

Mackenzie has one primary aim – to help her client’s be successful and reach their goals. As the first in her industry to open two therapy practices in two different provinces, Mackenzie has a unique perspective on how to grow a business. I have been touched by her passion to help emerging therapists enter into a private practice with all the tools and resources they need.

  • Words from a Collaborator

Jacquie and I have recently had the pleasure of spent time together as entrepreneurs, speakers, colleagues and coaches: within moments I recognized clear-headed ability to listen. Then honing in 'behind' the words and problems to grasp limiting beliefs and sources of real energy for change. Then - phew! - I got to observe her so comfortably apply this with still more professionals as teams.

Jacquie's professional experiences 'in finance' belie leadership and executive thinking capacity and what she is able to transfer to the world as a strategist. So clearly she helped conquer barriers to change, see through complexity and pinpoint challenges.

Already I'm happy to know and recommend her - jump if you have the chance to work with this powerhouse!

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Circles

  • Understanding Unconscious Bias as a Small Business Owner - March 2023

I can’t say enough about this workshop! Unconscious biases are something we all have. If you ever get the chance to spend time in conversation with @oliver_mwene and @jacquie_costron [@costronco] - say ‘yes’! The shift I feel moving through my consciousness is so welcome :)

  • Understanding Diversity, Equity + Inclusion as a Small Business Owner - March 2023

As a cleaning supervisor of our family's commercial cleaning business, I had the pleasure of attending the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) workshop, which was an enlightening experience. The workshop was designed to help small business owners and startup entrepreneurs navigate the ever-changing world around us.

The facilitators did an excellent job addressing some of the barriers to DEI and its impact on businesses. They provided practical strategies that can be implemented to turn any business into an organization that finds strengths through diversity.

I appreciated the emphasis on the importance of being DEI-aware as a business in today’s work environment. It was refreshing to see that DEI is no longer just an added value to an organization’s success but the backbone of its vision to excel.

Overall, the 2-hour workshop was informative, engaging, and well-organized. I left feeling empowered and equipped with the tools necessary to make my business more inclusive and diverse.

I highly recommend this workshop to any business owner or entrepreneur who wants to create a more diverse and inclusive workplace.

Thank you to the facilitators for their expertise and commitment to promoting DEI in business.

  • Understanding Unconscious Bias as a Small Business Owner - March 2023

The Unconscious Bias as a Small Business Owner session was extremely valuable. We don't know what we don't know until we seek opportunities to have our eyes opened by others a little further ahead on the journey. This session was exactly that opportunity for me! It was a safe space to explore my own unconscious biases and those I've witnessed in the behaviour and comments of others. No judgement. Just thought-provoking and inspiring discussion. Plus practical tools to move forward with language and marketing to include all the beautiful humans I've been put here on this earth to serve. Thanks so much to Jacquie and Msenwa for holding this space and leading by example. Great to connect with other participants as well. These are conversations we all need to have in 2023 and beyond!

  • Journey to Allyship - January 2023

Msenwa has been an active resource for me personally along my journey to advocate for the women and children of the Democratic Republic of Congo for the past 8 years. He has spoken alongside my work, which has helped bring a voice of representation to the people I have been painting for the past decade.

Although I have been working in a diverse space for sometime… I learned so much from the two hours spent in group sharing and conversation. In how far I have come and how far I still need to go. Never once have I felt shamed of guilty for getting “it wrong” it’s a safe space to be vulnerable, uncomfortable and supported.

I think everyone needs this opportunity!

  • Journey To Allyship ~ January 2023

Jacquie and Msenwa create a safe and intimate space that allows for the exploration of our experiences, our feelings, and our questions about our Allyship experiences.

Whether wearing shame and guilt or feeling pride in who we are and where we are on this journey, we can all acknowledge this is difficult terrain to navigate and sometimes “it’s not pretty.”

Thank you both for the love and care you bring to this work.

  • Journey to Allyship ~ January 2023

I was nervous entering the space. I have been working in African countries for many years now and I know I carry unconscious bias and prejudice. My goal was to learn.

Different from a safe space, Jacquie introduced the idea of ‘brave space’, a space where we can be brave enough to name our discomfort and to talk through difficult ideology. I liked that idea and opened my heart to the group process.

Msenwa offered space and language that allowed gentle conversation and sharing of ideas. He presented ways of thinking and speaking to open rather than close dialogue. His flexibility and openness supported the group to move into the moment and to share their experiences of difficult situations. He would often reframe difficulty into a learning opportunity.

I look forward to our next meeting to learn more about allyship and how to be respectfully and honestly present with others.

  • Journey to Allyship ~ January 2023

The allyship session with Msewana allows for such vulnerability and provides a safe space for your heart to open. There is so much learning to be done in terms of unconscious bias + things unknown to oneself because one simply doesn’t see it in their own lives.

This session is a wonderful beginning to raising humanity and coming back to a place of connection for ALL.

  • Journey to Allyship - January 2023

I attended the Journey To Allyship workshop presented by Msenwa and Jacquie. This was an experience that quite literally will have an affect on how I think and behave every day for the rest of my life.
